Abstract:
Red wiggler earthworms can be used in worm bins or garden beds to help break down food waste or yard debris into a type of compost called worm castings. These castings provide excellent nutrition to plants and can be applied as a soil amendment or brewed into a tea to be applied as a soil drench or a foliar spray. In a worm bin, worms require regular addition of bedding (damp shredded paper) and food (decaying plant material). They should be kept at temperatures between 50 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. In a garden bed or compost heap, worms require no care and will work to break down plant debris and improve soil health.
Gardener's Bark is available in a variety of textures, making it an ideal decorative mulch for ornamental garden beds. It helps keep soil covered, conserving moisture and suppressing weeds while enhancing the overall look of your garden.
